Counselor/Psychiatrist/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

• Counselors at the ALS Multidisciplinary Care Center may be a psychiatric nurse practitioner, psychologist, social worker, or psychiatrist.
  
  
• Provides counseling and supportive therapy to the patient, caregiver,or family as a unit
  
  
• Evaluates mood (depression or anxiety) secondary to ALS and prescribes medications as needed
  
  
• Provides counseling and supportive therapy to the multidisciplinary team
