DIET COMMITTEE

Approved by Medical Board as a Standing Committee on June 18, 1946.

STATEMENT OF CHARGE TO COMMITTEE:

1. To make certain that appropriate diets required for optimal patient care will be available for inpatients.

2. To facilitate instruction of inpatients and outpatients in appropriate diets.

3. To provide liaison between Food Service and Professional Staff.

4. Diet Manual is reviewed annually and revised as necessary.

5. Nutritional care policy and procedures, when appropriate, are recommended for approval to the Medical Board.

6. Voting members of this committee shall include: Representatives from the Dietary Department, physicians from the various clinical services and others as deemed appropriate by the chairperson.

7. Meets quarterly.

8. Reports annually to Medical Board.
