UTILIZATION REVIEW COMMITTEE

Approved by Medical Board June 16, 1964 to assume responsibilities of Hospital and Home Care Committee, Private Patient Care Committee and Ad Hoc Committee on Weekend Utilization. Revised July 20, 1994 to meet quarterly.

STATEMENT OF CHARGE TO COMMITTEE:

1. Required by law, Title 18 and Title 19.

2. To insure optimum and maximum utilization of Hospital facilities, as well as to discourage and prevent unnecessary utilization.

3. Voting members of this committee shall include: The Directors of Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, Social Work Service, Census Management, physicians from the various clinical services and others as deemed appropriate by the chairperson.

4. Meets quarterly.

5. Reports annually to Medical Board.
