Babies & Children's Hospital of New York at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center is one of the oldest and finest pediatric facilities in the world. Since its founding in 1887 as Babies Hospital, this renowned institution has served as the only hospital in New York City devoted exclusively to the care of children from infancy through adolescence, its physicians, nurses and ancillary staff trained to meet their special needs. The Hospital functions both as a community primary care facility and as a major international referral center.

Established in 1994, the Artworks Greeting Cards program helps to address the emotional and social needs of children treated at Babies & Children's Hospital. Proceeds from the greeting cards, designed by young patients, support the children's cancer program, the Child Life Program, special events and support groups, a pet therapy program, a children's art gallery, live broadcasts of special events and activities, an educational video library, and computers.
