John Pile-Spellman, M.D.,
is Professor of Radiology, Neurology and Neurological Surgery, Vice Chair
of Research and Director of Academic Interventional MRI at Columbia University
Medical Center. He is also an attending Radiologist and Director of Interventional
Neuroradiology at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Born in Sioux City, Iowa,
he is a graduate of University of South Dakota and Tufts University School
of Medicine. He completed residencies at Tufts New England Medical Center
and Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as fellowships in Neuroradiology
at Massachusetts General Hospital and Interventional Neuroradiology at New
York University Medical Center. Dr. Pile-Spellman has been included in Marquis’
Who’s Who in the World (2001 ~) and Castle Connolly’s Guide
to America’s Top Doctors (2001~).
Dr. Pile-Spellman is recognized as an international leader
in Interventional Neuroradiology, and has developed a number of innovative
new approaches to the endovascular treatment of a variety of cerebral
vascular disorders. He publishes actively in collaboration with the neurology,
neuropsychiatry and anesthesiology services at Columbia University, totaling
over one hundred publications.
