Welcome to the Department of Dermatology of the New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center Campus, a world renowned academic center specializing in education, research, and patient care. Established in 1911 as one of the nation’s largest and best-equipped centers for skin care, the Department today continues to be a premier institution dedicated to training the leaders of tomorrow in our specialty.
The Department is among the top ten NIH funded units in the United States. We have recently remodeled a 14,500 square foot state-of-the-art clinical and research facility located in the Health Sciences Campus of Columbia University in New York City. The resident practice is fully integrated with our faculty practice to provide both a continuum of care and comprehensive educational opportunities in a strong multi-specialty academic clinical setting.
The Department has an outstanding faculty including 20 full-time and 98 part-time voluntary members who support the superior residency training program we offer.
Perhaps what distinguishes our program from other programs is our commitment to providing the most comprehensive intensive educational experience to our trainees. All of our administrators and staff share that strong commitment to serving our community, as well as fostering a culture of discovery to promote the understanding of dermatologic diseases. This level of commitment to your growth is complemented by our location in New York City, which provides unparalleled opportunities for enrichment beyond your training in Dermatology.
We welcome your interest in Columbia’s residency training program.
Sincerely,

David R. Bickers, M.D.
