Welcome

The NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH)/Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC) offers a three year residency program that leads to eligibility for certification by the American Board of Dermatology.  Candidates for certification are required to have a total of four years of postgraduate training which would include one year post-graduate training in one of the following broad-based programs in the United State accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or a similar program in Canada accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada:  a transitional year (formerly called flexible first postgraduate year), a preliminary year, or a first-year residency in specialties such as internal medicine, general surgery, family practice, pediatrics, or emergency medicine.  Each year 3-4 residents and 1-2 fellows are appointed.  Residents are appointed following their first post-graduate year.
