HIV-1 Replication and Pathogenesis
Projects include studies on:
- The structural requirements for virion
assembly and RNA packaging
- The role of cellular chaperone proteins
in virion assembly and infectivity
- Interactions between viral proteins
and the cytoskeleton
- Mechanisms and consequences of Vpr-associated
G2 cell cycle arrest
- Mechanisms by which HIV-1 avoids immune
surveillance
