Research Interests:
Dr. Towers has an interest in energy balance and growth in
small infants and has published a paper on the energy expended
in depositing protein and fat in growth tissues. She is currently
collaborating on a research project with Drs. Schulze and
Kashyap determining the effects of diet on ventilation in
low birth weight infants. This work may be helpful in formulating
nutritional management of small infants, particularly those
with cardiorespiratory disease.
