COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY NARRATIVE MEDICINE PROGRAM PRESENTS DR. OLIVER SACKS
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 5 P.M.



Columbia University's Narrative Medicine program will present a talk by renowned neurologist Dr. Oliver Sacks on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at 5:00 p.m. at the Hammer Health Sciences Center/Long Library, Room 401, 701 W. 168th Street (Corner of 168th & Fort Washington Ave.).

Sacks, author of Awakenings, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, A Leg to Stand On and Musicophilia, will give the final in the 2008-2009 lecture series “Narrative Medicine Rounds.” Dubbed the “poet laureate of medicine” by The New York Times, Dr. Sacks will speak on the topic of his next book: hallucinations and the life of the visual brain.

This event is free and open to the public. No reservations are necessary. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. For information about the program in Narrative Medicine, go to www.narrativemedicine.org.
