Annual Fund

Each year, the School of Nursing depends on the generosity of its alumni to support its students through contributions to the Annual Fund. All gifts to the Annual Fund go directly to student financial aid. Alumni support is essential to ensuring that the brightest and most dedicated students can continue to receive a Columbia Nursing education.

You may make your secure gift online. Gifts at every level are truly appreciated and well-used. If you need some guidance, please see our Annual Fund Brochure for information on giving circles.

We also offer a monthly donation program. Make an ongoing contribution that is charged monthly to your credit card. You’ll never have to worry about mailing anything to us or keeping up with payments. Complete the recurring gift form or for more information, please contact Janine Handfus at (800) 899-6728.

Named Scholarships

Donors who contribute $5,000 or more to the Annual Fund, who establish a scholarship fund or endowed scholarship fund have a scholarship named in their honor. Gifts of $5,000 help fund a student for one year and provide the opportunity for a one-year named scholarship. For gifts of $50,000 or more, a scholarship is awarded to a student each year in perpetuity with the donor’s named scholarship. All scholars and donors are invited to attend the annual fall scholarship reception.

Did you know Columbia University School of Nursing is one of the agencies where you can designate your United Way gift? All donations to the United Way for the School of Nursing will be used to support student scholarships.

Class Gifts

Alumni of the School of Nursing have a long tradition of honoring their graduation class by making a Class gift. Those classes who donate $5,000 will have a named scholarship in their honor for one year. Classes who donate $50,000 or more will have an endowed scholarship and a student will be awarded this class scholarship each year in perpetuity. All scholars and donors are recognized each year at the Annual Fall Scholarship Reception.
