Columbia University School of Nursing welcomes international visitors for short term visits of one to three days. Groups may consist of one to 5 persons.

Many faculty are not available in August. Visits from the middle of December until the first week in January are not available as school is not in session at this time.
CUSON is not able to arrange any visits to hospitals or other clinical sites. Please read the CUSON Visiting Scholars Policy.

The School of Nursing receives requests from graduate students to study or work at the School for varying lengths of time. Such requests may be considered if the student visitor (a) will contribute positively to the School’s mission and goals and (b) has full funding for the entire visit, including housing, travel, cost of living, and any applicable School/University fees. Columbia University School of Nursing and its WHO Collaborating Center for Advanced Practice Nursing welcomes international student visitors for short term visits. All international visitors wishing to visit CUSON must contact the WHO Collaborating Center director, Elaine Larson (ell23@columbia.edu) to proceed with a formal request.
Short-Term Non-degree Visiting Students
Short-term student visitors have no appointment, formal affiliation, or designation with the University, but come to the University for a brief period for training or to observe the school’s pedagogy, clinical activities and/or research activities.
Requests for short-term visits must follow Columbia University Guidelines for Short-term Visitors in Research-Related Activities (if appropriate), and must comply with the University's policies concerning safety, training, human subject protection, and other requirements.
All short-term student visitors must by make a formal request by submitting the Visiting Student Application Form. All short term student visitors must demonstrate full financial support for all expenses. Fees may vary depending on the details of the visit. The application is reviewed for overall appropriateness and then forwarded to the relevant faculty member and program director. Student visitors must be over eighteen years of age.
