Application Requirements
What to do now: Apply!
Starting in early August 2007 we will be accepting applications for Fall 2008 (online application). Applications are due by March 3 to start the program the following fall. CUSON follows a self-administered application procedure, whereby the entire completed application is required from you in one envelope at one time. By using the online application system, you are able to submit the application, personal goal statement, resume/CV, and application fee online. After submitting your application online please mail us in one envelope:
- New York State license as Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligibility
- Current professional certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an NLN or CCNE accredited program
- Master’s degree in advanced nursing practice from an NLN or CCNE accredited program
- Relevant experience in advanced practice nursing
- Three references attesting to applicant’s academic ability and potential, including one from a professional colleague
- Personal goal statement that is congruent with the program goals
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae
- Satisfactory score on the GRE (scores 5 years or less will be accepted)
- Case study that represents applicant's level of clinical expertise in the provision of care
