The Office of Disability Services (ODS) is pleased to coordinate disability related services or accommodations for graduates or their guests for the University's Commencement activities. These services are available to guests who use wheelchairs, have limited mobility, the elderly needing assistance, and those needing sign language interpretation. Details on disability access for University Commencement can be found online: http://www.columbia.edu/content/parents-friends-family-4.html
The University will have a limited number of wheelchairs available from Friday, May 17 through Thursday, May 23 at no cost. These must be reserved ahead of time. Please call or email the Office of Disability Services at (212) 854-2388 or email@example.com to make a reservation and to arrange pick-up of the wheelchair.
There will be a dedicated seating area at the SON Graduation Ceremony for guests with disabilities or limited mobility. Guests do not need to alert SON in advance to reserve seating. No special tickets are required to enter the designated seating area. There will be an elevator reserved solely for limited mobility guest access to the SON Graduation Ceremony in The New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory.
If you have a guest attending the SON Graduation Ceremony with special disability needs (aside from wheelchair or mobility issues) please contact Tania Quispe at 212-305-5439 by April 10th.
