Columbia University scholarships are awarded solely on the basis of documented need. Financial need is defined as the difference between the student’s expense budget and the expected family contribution. When the family contribution - in addition to any outside scholarship awards - does not meet expenses, the student’s remaining need becomes the basis of all financial aid awarded through the Programs. The award package bridges the gap between the student’s resources and the remaining educational costs.
In addition, the Alumni Committee of the Programs in Occupational Therapy offers the following scholarships to incoming entry-level students who meet the eligibility requirements:
Tuition Scholarships Ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Awards will be based on academic excellence and/or financial need.
Franciscus Fund Awards $1,000 each, including $500 scholarship and $500 interest-free loan.
Life Experience Awards Ranging from $250 to $1,000 for incoming students age 35 and over.
The Programs in Occupational Therapy also awards during the academic year the following scholarships for currently enrolled students:
May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation Scholarship Scholarships of $10,000 each for two Occupation Therapy students.
Dorothy M. Catana Magee OT’46 Scholarship Scholarships of $1,000 each for Occupational Therapy students.
Crane Fund for Widows and Children Scholarships of $5,000 each for two Occupational Therapy students.
