Physicans within the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine are expert in the practice and teaching of evidence based medicine.
Individual faculty are working to integrate evidence based medicine into the curriculum for the pediatric residency training program.
We initiated and continue to coordinate a two-day evidence based medicine workshop which is enthusiastically attended by Pediatric Emergency Medicine fellows from all over New York City.
The division is also interested in the use of educational technology in clinical settings with particular interest in the interface between education and clinical decision support.
The attending staff meets once a week for an academic meeting during which relevant literature is reviewed using the principles of evidence based medicine and research ideas are discussed.
