Dr. Softness is a clinical endocrinologist whose major role is the training of our residents in diabetes care. He has been involved in clinical projects related to use of growth hormone in cardiac transplant patients. He currently is involved in the TRIGR diabetes trial to reduce diabetes in children genetically at risk and is also participating in an oral health project with Columbia University's Dental School for the children with type I diabetes. He attends the diabetes clinic and organizes their seminars and teaching sessions. He is Board certified in Pediatric Endocrinology.
