Recycle-A-Bicycle at IS 318

Recycle-A-Bicycle teaches mechanics, bike safety and promotes transportation alternatives. An environmentally friendly program, RAB focuses on open spaces, waste reduction and recycling. I.S. 318 is one of several sites throughout NYC, you may visit the NYC RAB Website for more information. RAB was first started in collaboration with the non-profit organization, Transportation Alternatives.

IS 318 RAB, founded in spring of 1997, offered after-school programs, a technology class for middle school students, group rides and a summer program. Check out the Green Map System - they have posted pics & info about the NB RAB summer 98 Garden Map.

In the summer of 2000 RAB donated bikes to Open Road to be used in the City-Wide Mapping Project for garden preservation.
