In the fall of 2000 Don Betts of Floating the Apple took the students of the NYC Board of Ed 8 Plus Program in lower Manhattan on a journey. They built a Whitehall Gig and then rowed it in the Hudson. Volunteers of all ages including students from City-As-School's River Lab Program assisted in the process. Below is a series of images which illustrate the various stages of boat building from frame to water. |
