The Alumni Fund/P&S Alumni Association

The 1995-96 Annual Fund campaign conducted by the P&S Alumni Association generated nearly $8 million for the medical school. The success of the campaign is a credit to the remarkable generosity of P&S alumni and friends, says Abbie I. Knowlton'42, chairman of the 1995-96 fund. 

The amount raised is an extraordinary achievement in itself but is even more impressive because it represents a sustained giving level for P&S over the past several years. Few schools can match the loyalty and pride of P&S graduates, a loyalty that serves as the basis for the many achievements at P&S. 

Nearly 3,000 alumni (48 percent of all alumni) gave gifts this year, joining the 309 friends who contributed to the $7.8 million total. 

During 1995-96, P&S expanded its fund-raising capacity to double the school's endowment, create a 21st Century Fund to provide seed money for promising programs, increase the number of fully endowed professorships from 43 (established during our 222-year history from 1767 to 1989) to a total of 65 endowed professorships in seven years.
