Welcome to the Program in Physical Therapy website.  The site has been designed to be used as a resource that highlights our entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree program, our faculty, students and alumni.  Columbia is one of the oldest physical therapy programs in the country, having graduated more than 2200 clinicians since our inception in 1942.  The program’s success is in large part due to the dedication of our faculty, students, alumni and clinicians who promote physical therapy on a daily basis.  The program attracts a diverse student body that has gone on to excel in their professional careers as master clinicians, educators and researchers.  The future of physical therapy is in the hands of today’s students.  Educating the next generation is crucial to ensure that the profession is prepared to meet the healthcare challenges ahead.
