How Do I Receive my Results?

Once our specially-trained physicians have reviewed the PET or PET/CT scan and related films, they write up detailed reports explaining their findings. In order to interpret a PET or PET/CT scan accurately, the radiologists and cardiologists of Columbia Kreitchman PET Center need to compare their findings with the results of your previous diagnostic tests. Please bring relevant films with you on the day of your scan.

The PET or PET/CT scan report is faxed to your referring physician's office within 48 hours of the scan’s completion. In addition, the report and accompanying images are delivered to your physician's office no later than 2 business days following the exam. Any outside films are returned at that time. Columbia physicians are also available by telephone to further discuss their findings with referring physicians.

Your referring physician will review the PET or PET/CT findings with you.
