DUAL DEGREE PROGRAM

The Mailman School of Public Health has developed dual degree programs with ten other Columbia schools.  These programs provide students with the opportunity to tap into the full resources of the University and to gain knowledge, skills, and perspectives outside of public health.  The ten dual degree programs are with the College of Physicans and Surgeons, College of Dental Medicine, School of Nursing, Programs in Occupational Therapy, School of Business, School of Law, School of International and Public Affairs, School of Social Work, and Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation.

Students wishing to enter one of these programs should submit a separate application to each school, indicating dual degree status on the application. Although it is advised that applicants seek admission for a dual degree before beginning graduate study at Columbia, it is also possible to enter after matriculating in one school. It is strongly advised that the two components of the degree be pursued simultaneously, but the option of entering into a dual degree program generally remains open as long as the student has not graduated from the first program.
