New York Civil Liberties Union Reproductive Rights Project Honors Allan Rosenfield
The New York Civil Liberties Union Reproductive Rights Project honored Dr. Rosenfield at the "Stand Up for Choice" annual benefit on May 22, 2007. Donna Lieberman, Executive Director of the NYCLU, and Faye Wattleton, President of the Center of the Advancement of Women and past-President of Planned Federation of America, presented Dr. Rosenfield with the Joseph Calloway Prize for the Defense of the Right to Privacy award.
The award citation stated: "Dr. Rosenfield is a pioneering giant in the field of reproductive medicine and an inspiration to generations of health care professionals. Over the years Dr. Rosenfield has created groundbreaking community-based national and international programs that protect the lives and health of women, children, and families."
Also honored at NYCLU's annual benefit were Roberta Kaplan, Partner in the Litigation Department of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, LLP, and the Teen Health Initiative, a reproductive health rights program founded by the NYCLU in 1997.
