Public Health Association of NYC Inaugurates the Allan Rosenfield Public Health and
On June 6, 2007, the Public Health Association of New York City presented the Allan Rosenfield Award for Public Health and Social Justice to H. Jack Geiger, Arthur C. Logan Professor Emeritus of Community Medicine at CUNY Medical School at their 2007 Awards Dinner. Dr. Geiger was a founding member and past president of Physicians for Human Rights and Physicians for Social Responsibility, and is a real public health hero. The newly created award honors Dr. Rosenfield and pays tribute to the deep connections between population health and social justice and celebrates individuals who have nurtured this public health tradition. |
