Alumni Executive Board Establishes the Allan Rosenfield Alumni Excellence Award

As a means of expressing gratitude and respect for Allan Rosenfield's dedicated leadership of the Mailman School and for his pioneering achievements in the field of public health, the School's Alumni Executive Board has created a special award in Dr. Rosenfield's name. Called the "Allan Rosenfield Alumni Excellence Award," it will be given each year to a Mailman graduate who demonstrates an innovative commitment to public health programs.

According to Alumni Executive Board President Michael Barnett, MPH '70, the Board wished to recognize not only Dr. Rosenfield's invaluable contributions to the School, but also his ability to energize public health programs by creating a committed "follow-ship" to carry on the numerous programs he has initiated.

"With this award," said Barnett, "we are recognizing the impact of Dr. Rosenfield's accomplishments and his ability to inspire action among the generations of public health leaders to come."
