STAFF - WHO WE ARE Deborah Schwarz-McGregor, PA Director, External Affairs E-mail address: schwarc@cpmail-nz.cis.columbia.edu Deborah Schwarz-McGregor heads all outreach efforts of Columbia-Presbyterian’s Department of Surgery and the Heart Institute. She has served Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center for eighteen years, where she began her clinical career as Physicians Assistant in Cardiac Surgery. In 1991, she was tapped to initiate and develop all outreach efforts for the Department of Surgery. Today, her department has grown to six individuals, all dedicated to ensuring that the talents of Columbia-Presbyterian’s world-class surgeons and cardiologists reach those individuals in need. Most recently, Ms. Schwarz-McGregor has spearheaded the successful launch of the Second Opinion Campaign with local print and radio outreach. Santana Marketing Coordinator ans9001@cpmail-nz.cis.columbia.edu The Department of Surgery’s outreach efforts include educational literature in the form of brochures, newsletters, websites, CD-ROMs, and video and audio tapes, all designed to provide guidance to referring physicians and interested consumers. Martha and Angeline work closely with the clinicians at Columbia-Presbyterian to get the message out to the optimal audience. In addition, they help manage the Department’s many special events including lecture series and Continuing Medical Education seminars. Many of Columbia-Presbyterian’s physicians are available to speak at national and regional conferences and symposia. Twenty-four hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days-a-year we are here to put you in touch with Columbia-Presbyterian’s surgical and cardiac specialists. As key coordinator of this effort, Lynn Romano brings that rare mix of knowledge, caring and dedication to this pivotal role at Columbia-Presbyterian.
