Detection/Self-Assessment Test

The 1st International Consultation on ED sponsored by the World Health Organization at the conference in July 1999 came up with the following questionnaire. This questionnaire is called the ED Intensity and Impact Scale. It consists of six questions: five are to detect ED and to determine its intensity, one is to discover how ED has impacted you. Your total score will be useful in diagnosing and establishing the severity of your erectile dysfunction.

You can take this test at home in complete privacy, but be sure to share your findings with your doctor if and when you need the help of a profession.

Each question has several responses. Circle the number of the response that best describes your own situation. Please be sure that you select one and only one response for each question.

Note: The following questions should only be completed by men who have been sexually active and have attempted sexual intercourse in the past 3 months. For sexually inactive men, the questionnaire may be answered for the last period of time (3 months or longer) during which the individual was sexually active.
