Introduction

The Division for Pediatric Urology at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center is based at the Babies and Children's Hospital of New York. Pediatric urology was established at CPMC in the 1950's by Dr. John K. Lattimer and his monumental efforts established the Babies Hospital as a world center for the care of children with abnormalities of the urinary tract such as Bladder Exstrophy, the Prune Belly Syndrome, Posterior Urethral Valves and Wilm's Tumor.

Today our team includes board certified physicians who have completed advanced fellowship training in pediatric urology, as well as specially trained pediatric urology nurses, and a host of pediatric sub-specialists in nephrology, radiology and anesthesia. By bringing together a team of experts in these various fields, the Division of Pediatric Urology can offer the highest quality comprehensive care to children with various urologic abnormalities. Only a very few medical centers across the country can provide the range of care available at the Babies and Children's Hospital of New York. We believe that providing the best medical care goes beyond state of the art equipment and the latest techniques. It is also a means of providing care with compassion and our goal is to aid not only the patient, but the family.

The Division of Pediatric Urology offers a full range of services for children with urologic abnormalities. The goal is to provide the best care possible for children using the most advanced diagnostic techniques.
