Class of '54
We were saddened to learn of the death on February 2nd, 1995, of John Harrison, Sr., M.S. Former president and CEO of Lynn Hospital in Massachusetts, Harrison was also a former president of the Massachusetts Hospital Association. His is survived by his wife, Jean, son John A., Jr., and daughters, Kathleen, Ann and Lisa.
Thomas H. Bott, M.S., administrator for Medical Rehabilitation and Health Services in Brookfield, Conn., is married and the father of two daughters and one son. His wife has a consulting business for independent insurance agencies.
Steven Henning Sieverts, M.S., is working as an independent consultant in managed health care with operations in the U.K. and the U.S. His clients are mainly in the private sector in the States and public sector in the U.K.
Retired US Army Nurse Corps Lt. Colonel, Miriam Ginsberg Rothchild, M.S., was named "The Citizen of the Year" by the Rossmoor Kiwanis Club in May last year. The citation said, in part: "Some people are not content to be merely onlookers in life. They feel a need to be involved in improving the quality of life. Miriam Rothchild is one of these". She and her husband, Phil, are proud and honored to have this citation in a corner of their home.
Fred L. Lang, M.S., is working in Paterson, NJ, as president and CEO of Barnert Hospital.
Lesley Stone Hurlburt, M.P.H., is the mother of two children Thomas, aged 6 and Megan, aged 3. She serves as a consumer member of the Hudson Valley HSA and she also serves on the Board of Directors of the Dutchess County YWCA.
Ronald J. Glassman, M.P.H., marked his eighth year in professional practice development, specializing in medical, legal and accounting practices as R.J. Glassman Company. He was also re-appointed to the NYU faculty for the fifth year. Joyce Morin, M.S., is currently working as vice president of planning and community affairs at West Hudson Hospital in Kearny, NJ.
Denise S. Brantley, M.P.H., is currently an audiologist with the Shorefront Jewish Geriatric Center in Brooklyn.
After receiving a J.D. subsequent to her M.P.H., Gay Elizabeth Kang is now a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, DC, on environmental torts. Her interests focus on epidemiology, scientific method and the law.
Felicia Mancini, M.P.H., is a student nurse-midwife anticipating a June graduation from the University of California at San Francisco. She gave birth to daughter, Isabella, 17 months ago.
After five years in the Health Department, Michael G. Dowling, M.P.H., has taken a position as associate vice president for mental health and chemical dependency services in the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation.
Jennifer Calder, G.P.H., is currently employed as an assistant state epidemiologist with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. Linda Young Landesman, Dr.P.H., was recently appointed to serve a three year term on the Program Development Board of the American Public Health Association (APHA). In addition, she recently organized a national conference on curriculum development for disaster preparedness for U.S. schools of public health.
Currently, Dennis A. HoSang, M.P.H., is a senior health care program planner analyst with the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation. After receiving a D.O. in 1992, Philip Lindstrom is now a third year resident in family practice at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Mma Jane Michaels, M.P.H., is proud to announce that a beautiful daughter, Adannia Nicole, was born in January, 1994. Presently, Michaels is a health educator in Jersey City, NJ.
