Columbia Dental Review is an annual publication of Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery (SDOS). This journal is intended to be a clinical publication, featuring case presentations supported by substantial reviews of the relevant literature. It is a peer-reviewed journal, edited by the students of the school. The editors are selected on the basis of demonstrated clinical scholarship.
Authors are primarily SDOS students from predoctoral and postdoctoral programs, SDOS faculty and residents and attendings from affiliated hospitals. Peer reviewers are selected as much as possible from the SDOS faculty. Instructions for authors can be found on the last page of this journal.
The journal will be published simultaneously on the internet (with color illustrations): http://cpmcnet.columbia.edu/dental/
Acknowledgments
It is a pleasure to acknowledge the help we, the Editorial Board, have received in bringing the Second Edition to completion, especially from many dedicated teachers who, by drawing on their writing experiences and by giving generously of their time, have offered a wealth of ideas and suggestions for its improvement. These include: Dr. Letty Moss-Salentijn, who we are grateful for her guidance and motivation in publishing the journal; Peer Review Committee, for their criticism, comments, and suggestions in a most detailed and supportive manner; Dean Allan J. Formicola, who has been a source of encouragement.
Also, we sincerely thank Mr. Douglas McAndrew and Ms. Madelyn Guerrero, for their speed, accuracy, and diligent care in editing and organization of the journal. We also thank the staff of Health Sciences Library, especially John Sloan Hopkins, who has been helpful during the final stages of the journal.
