Q&A
Q: When should I visit the CPMC Occupational Health Service?
A:The CPMC Occupational Health Service, located on Harkness 1, is available to serve all employees who become ill or who are injured at work. Before visiting Occupational Health, you must first acquire a clinic card that includes a personalized medical record number. Clinic cards are available by visiting the central registration office in room 121 of the Vanderbilt Clinic. You must present your Columbia ID when applying for the clinic card. Although it's possible you will never require services from Occupational Health, it's a good idea to obtain your clinic card in advance in case an emergency ever arises.
(Note: If you already have a clinic card, make sure it's the most up-to-date version: An old card will be white with blue lettering, while the newer cards are a solid color. All university employees are issued maroon cards. If you have the old card, it will be honored in an emergency, but the Occupational Health staff encourage people to update to the current clinic card.)
