The Construction of an Admissions Site
Pat Tobiasen's Home Page Design Tips
* Before finalizing a Web site design and format, do a lot of "surfing," that is, find out what information similar sites include. "This isn't so much to help you decide what you want as it is to help you decide what you don't want."
* Try to keep your information as simple and as concise as possible. "Your first page should have the most basic information. If readers are going to your site to find out about your department, tell them what they will want to know and then how to get more information. Graphics are nice but shouldn't get in the way."
* Forget about the lingo--don't let HTML language bog you down. "Think about what you want to say on your page and the rest will follow. Besides, the people at CPMCnet are very helpful."
