Q&A
Q: It's my understanding that under the University's vacation policy we are required to use held-over vacation time before the start of a new fiscal year. What are the precise rules?
A: The University's fiscal year begins July 1 of each year and ends on June 30. All vacation time earned through June 30, 1996, must be taken by June 30, 1997. In other words, faculty and staff have the option of carrying over one year's vacation time up to the end of the following fiscal year. Vacation time from fiscal year 1996 not used before June 30, 1997, is forfeited.
