In Memoriam
Mae Rudolph, former director of public information for the Health Sciences and the founder and first editor of the Health Sciences Reporter, died April 29 of ovarian cancer. She was 67 years old.
Her service to Columbia spanned 18 years. In 1974, as the first staff member of what was then called the Office of Professional Communications, Ms. Rudolph was responsible for public relations and publications. Before joining Columbia, she was a newspaper and wire service reporter, free-lance writer, editor of such publications as Medical World News and Family Health, and a contributing editor to MD Magazine and Science Digest, as well as other magazines. She was the author or co-author of several books in the health sciences fields. Her latest book was on estrogen.
Ms. Rudolph is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Rudolph and Sarah Rudolph, both of New York City, and a brother, Charles Eanes, of Virginia.
