M-235 Ambulatory Care: The American Hospital of Paris

The elective is offered by The American Hospital of Paris, an international affiliate of The New York Presbyterian Hospital.

This elective provides students with exposure to all aspects of ambulatory care, including initial office out-patient admissions and consultations in a 187-bed voluntary, not-for -profit acute care, general hospital. The Hospital was created by a Special Act of the U.S. Congress in 1913 and is located in Neuilly-sur-Seine, 12 minutes from the Arc de Triomphe (l'Etoile). Students work with American and French internists and other attending specialists and are exposed to a broad variety of medical problems of patients from 103 countries, but a majority of French fee-for-service patients. Prerequisites:
Open to 4th year medical students only
A working knowledge of French is required
Convenient French language tutoring is paid for in New York to help you brush up.
